CEO Blog Nation launched its “I am CEO” campaign for entrepreneurs and business owners. There is nothing like being an entrepreneur and the captain of the ship. It is a source of pride and ownership and that is why we captured in our battle cry what it means to be an entrepreneur.

It's A Rewarding Experience
Being an entrepreneur and small business owner gives you the freedom of making your own hours, but there are the times where you feel the weight of having to work until midnight in order to build the business. When you have to wear a number of different hats and there isn't anyone else you can fall back on that is the price you have to pay, but it is a small price for doing something you love. As a CEO, you have the great opportunity to learn all the different roles that make up the team that helps run the company on a daily basis. By being a hands-on CEO, you gain a number of different skill sets while traveling these simultaneous career paths. Being the owner of a niche business in particular means having to creatively come up with solutions to problems that have never existed in the business world before. Starting a small company like On Location Tours and helping it grow from the ground up has been one of the most rewarding experiences.

An Opportunity to Inspire & Nurture the “Inner Entrepreneur”
Being a CEO is very much an opportunity to inspire and nurture the “inner entrepreneur” of each employee such that they have the chance to conceptualize and implement original ideas for the benefit of the company.

Making Quick Decisions & Having Absolute Control
Being an entrepreneur, for me, has many advantages. Fast decision making, lean operations and product development times, the ability to rapidly respond to customers' requests and issues, and absolute control of how the business evolves. Being a solopreneur, I'm responsible for my marketing, communications and social media strategies, and these are constantly evolving. Something that's easy to achieve when you're the boss! Being a blogger, I can react quickly to events that affect my membership and get the word out to my community with a few clicks of the mouse. Got an idea for a new webinar or video? I can put it together in a day and have it out to my members in a jiffy. When you're the CEO there's no office politics, no blame game and no “poor me”. You're too busy keeping all the balls in the air and running the business. Being master of my own destiny means I have full creative management over my brand which often means way more ideas than I can possibly implement. All the glory, credit and successes are mine. And all the hard work and challenges are mine. It's great running your own business.

Waking Up Each Day to Solve Problems
Being a CEO means waking up each day excited to solve problems in your business. Entrepreneurs are entrepreneurs because they enjoy the challenge and don't think of it as a low point in their day: they enjoy problem solving.

Being Independent & Able to Accomplish Amazing Things
Being a CEO means independence, it means being able to wake up in the mornings with the desire to accomplish amazing things. Being a CEO has allowed me to go from being unconfident and afraid to being fearless and brave. It's transformed the way I think and the way that I see life. I'm no longer afraid to follow my intuition, chase my dreams and live a life that I love. I no longer need to worry about ‘job titles' because I can create my own and I am blessed to be able to inspire other people to follow their dreams too. Being a CEO has opened up doors for me; from being featured in one of the UK's leading magazines to speaking in front of a crowd of 12,000 people! Being a CEO is freeing, enriching and truly wonderful.

Flexibility to Listen & Lead
Being a CEO means having a flexible business vehicle at my disposal to quickly share with the market the latest strategies and tools to discover hidden business profits. As a CEO, I can listen to the market and lead the strategic development of tools, including Expert Profit Solutions, so that owners can analyze their cost composition, their market position, their customers, and other variables. Through information, CEOs can empower other business owners to be effective in their own markets. It is a powerful platform and provides a powerful voice.

It Means Everything
Everything. I worked as a web designer for nearly 7 years before discovering internet marketing and gathering up the courage to strike it out on my own. It was the hardest, scariest thing I've every done, but it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I used to dread work and now I often run to the office and eagerly anticipate that first cup of coffee while I work. I'm extremely competitive and running my business allows me to channel that passion into real results for clients. Every day there is something to learn, a challenge to be met, and even when a crises arises, it forces me to perform at my best and discover a bit more about myself and what I'm capable of. I'm a strong believer in conquering oneself, and being a CEO allows me to test myself everyday.
