The Princeton Review & Entrepreneur Magazine Name The Top 50 Schools for Entrepreneurship Programs

NEW YORK — The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine announced today the results of The Princeton Review's annual survey that names the schools with the top 25 undergraduate and top 25 graduate entrepreneurship programs in the nation.

From more than 2,000 schools that The Princeton Review solicited data from on its spring 2013 survey for this project, 39 institutions' undergraduate and/or graduate programs made it to the final list.

Babson College in Massachusetts earned the #1 spot on the undergraduate entrepreneurship program list for the second consecutive year, and it ranked #2 on the graduate program list.

The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor finished #1 on the graduate program list, up from #2 in 2012. The University of Houston captured the #2 spot on the undergraduate program list. (Complete top 25 lists follow).

The Princeton Review will post the ranking lists today atwww.princetonreview.com/entrepreneur. There users can also access profiles on the schools, and information about the education service company's survey methodology and its criteria for the rankings. Entrepreneur will post its feature article reporting on the ranking lists today on its website atwww.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges: the article will appear in its October issue, available on newsstands September 24.

The Princeton Review conducted its survey of undergraduate colleges and graduate business schools for this project from April through June 2013. The survey asked school administrators 60 questions covering: their schools' levels of commitment to entrepreneurship inside and outside the classroom, the percentage of faculty, students, and alumni actively and successfully involved in entrepreneurial endeavors, and the number and reach of their mentorship programs. The education services company also asked schools about their scholarships and grants for entrepreneurial studies and projects, and their support for school-sponsored business plan competitions. In all, over 30 data points were analyzed to tally the final list of top ranking programs and schools.

This year’s roster includes six schools that made the top entrepreneurship program lists for the first time. They are: The George Washington University (#25-graduate list), Harvard University (#3-graduate list), New York University (#24-graduate list), Saint Louis University (#23-undergraduate list), Stanford University (#7-undergraduate list and #6-graduate list) and the University of Iowa (#21-undergraduate list).

Robert Franek, Princeton Review Senior VP / Publisher, praised the schools for their exemplary programs: “We salute these colleges and b-schools not only for their superb faculties and wide range of courses in entrepreneurship, but also for their school-sponsored out-of-class offerings. Their students have extraordinary opportunities to network with established entrepreneurs, interact on teams that turn promising ideas into possible start-ups, and develop skills to launch their own successful businesses.”

“Our annual ranking provides current and potential entrepreneurs with an overview of the best programs out there that will help cultivate their passions,” said Amy Cosper, VP and editor in chief of Entrepreneur magazine. “The opportunity to expand a skillset or network with business influentials can launch a career forward or infuse new perspectives into a company's growth strategy. The competitive edge these institutions provide is reason enough to see their value, no matter how untraditional the entrepreneurial pursuit may be.”
