Who Knew Business Could Be This Ugly (Book Review)

BookThe Ugly Truth About Small Business: 50 Things That Can Go Wrong…and What You Can Do About It

Author: Ruth King

Pages: 302

Twitter Review: Quick read that gets to the heart of the ugly of business and gives solutions from the entrepreneurs. Good read!

Review: This book is organized like the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, but it packs a more powerful punch than those books for aspiring entrepreneurs and those that are currently running their business. The book contains 50 “ugly” stories from entrepreneurs told in couple of pages.  What makes this book different is that each story ends with two parts: “What I learned” and “Applying the Lessons Learned to Your Business.” It is these sections which make this book a great teaching tool for the entrepreneurial minded.  Finally King  has chapters titled 15 survival strategies, the realities of partners, and the 7 greatest myths of business operations.  While this is good information, the best part of the book are the stories from the entrepreneurs that speak from their heart.  King assembled a great group of entrepreneurs to tell their story and provided lessons for people to implement in their own businesses.
