4 Entrepreneurs Explain How They Use Their Podcast For Business

Just like videos, the use of podcasts is turning to be a preferred engagement tool for many entrepreneurs. It can be used to educate your audience on diverse topics and highlight news in the market. Podcasts can also be a great engagement tool with your clients and audience where you give them a platform to share their knowledge, expertise and opinions.

We asked entrepreneurs, podcasters and business owners how they use their podcasts for business.

#1- Support my career coaching business

I started my podcast Tattooed Freaks in Business Suits to help support my career coaching business. The whole point of the podcast is to explore a topic related to business or job searching, especially as it relates to Gen Xers and Millennials that seek positions of leadership that allow them to be themselves. It carries the message that you can be yourself – tattoos and all – and find a great career in the business world. I invite other business professionals, recruiters, and even other coaches to discuss these issues. For my own business, The Personal Touch Career Services, the podcast is a great way to inform new people about our business philosophy while giving our current clients and fans access to new information to improve their own job search.

#2- Meeting and interviewing potential clients

Our company has had great success with our podcast! Having a guest on our show has been a fantastic way to meet potential clients and interview them. It has connected us with others in our industry that have now become clients after being on the show. Having a podcast has added credibility to our brand and allows our clients to connect with us on a more personal level.

#3- Audience growth and establish authority

The point of a Podcast is to establish Authority and to grow your audience. With that said, doing this for your business means that you're showing your expertise. Creating an episode from frequently asked questions is a great example because you're showing your Authority and building trust with your potential customers.

#4- A number of ways

I use my blog in my business to serve my audience in another way when I am not selling something as well as have my current freebies and courses to sponsor the show when I am enrolling new clients. I can multi-purpose the content as a blog post and podcast and I also try to have the subject be ‘evergreen'. Whether someone listens to the show now or 5 years from now, it's content they can learn something from.
