11 Entrepreneurs Explain What They Had to Pivot During the Digital Migration

Digital transformation has brought about significant changes in the way businesses operate. One of the most important concepts that have emerged during this transformation is the need for organizations to pivot and shift their strategies to keep up with the rapidly evolving technological landscape. Pivoting involves making a strategic change in direction to adapt to new market conditions while shifting involves adjusting existing strategies to accommodate new technologies or customer preferences.

To adapt, we've got to reconsider how we manage our clients, connect with them, sell our services, handle sales, and estimate projects. Our primary focus has been on implementing digital solutions to help these areas of our organization run more smoothly and efficiently. We've invested in customer management software to help us keep track of our clients and stay in touch with them at all times. We've used tools like email and messaging applications to stay connected and respond quickly to requests.

One major shift within my business during the digital migration involved prioritizing e-commerce platforms to reach customers online and maintain sales during physical disruptions. The digital migration demanded a holistic transformation, going beyond just an online presence. It disrupted traditional business models and industry boundaries, necessitating agile adaptations and innovative value propositions. Harnessing data analytics became important for optimized operations, marketing, and strategic decision-making while heightening data governance and privacy concerns.

As the owner of Pearl Lemon SEO, I navigated significant pivots in my business amidst the digital migration. Embracing technology, I shifted focus towards enhancing online visibility and digital marketing strategies, recognizing the surge in e-commerce and remote work. I transitioned from traditional face-to-face client interactions to a robust online presence, investing in SEO and content marketing to capture the digital-first audience. It meant reimagining how we collaborate, communicate, & deliver our services. Embracing digital tools like video conferencing platforms & project management software became essential for maintaining productivity & keeping the team connected. We rethought our marketing & outreach strategies, focusing more on digital channels to reach our audience effectively.

#11- 3D and VR for remote review

During the digital migration, we’ve seen consumers, working professionals, and organizations all shift toward remote and virtual spaces. Fortunately, as a trade show service provider that was already used to working with exhibitors all around the country, we were already familiar with taking meetings remotely and using 3D exhibit renders to show customers how their trade show booth would look before it’s built. One pivot we have had to make in this regard is familiarizing ourselves with the whole host of remote meeting platforms in use today, including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Skype.

Thanks to Thomas Samuels, Cardinal Expo!
