Lancaster, PA (Nov. 5, 2013) – More than 2,100 car wash owners and operators around the world will come together on November 11, to honor veterans and current military service personnel with a free car wash. Car washes in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia will offer a free car wash on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, to those who have or are currently serving in the armed forces.
Grace for Vets founder Mike Mountz, former owner of Cloister Wash & Lube, vowed to find a way to honor veterans after serving in the armed forces and witnessing the seriously wounded soldiers at Veterans Hospital in Valley Forge, PA. Several years after opening his first car wash, Mountz started the Grace for Vets Free Car Wash Program.
“This day is not about the car wash operators who are providing free washes, it’s about honoring those who have and are still protecting their country. It’s an exciting and emotional day for everyone. Every year we look forward to giving back to those that have given so much,” Mountz explained.
With the help of car washes around the world, Grace for Vets recognizes more military service personnel each year. The program is looking to increase its wash total to 150,000 this year. Owners and operators can register to participate at graceforvets.org/register, and Veterans can find a list of participating car washes at graceforvets.org/veterans.
