10 Entrepreneurs Share How They've Dealt With Supply Chain Management or Issues

#1- Enjoy well-deserved breaks

In my opinion, when overburdened with responsibilities, breaks can seem superfluous. Over the course of 90-120 minutes of continuous repetition of the same action, we begin to lose our edge. Each day and week must include scheduled breaks to allow for mental recharging. The same holds true during the holiday season. During time away from the office, it is essential to give yourself time to disconnect from work. This should be viewed as an investment in your future performance.

Thanks to Adam Wood, RevenueGeeks!

#2- Keeping a Journal

As an experienced CEO, I believe that journaling or just writing out your thoughts on paper can be a healthy method to improve your mental health. The procedure can be therapeutic and helpful in working through feelings. Reading your old journals and notes can shed light on who you were back then. Writing down your worries can help you gain perspective and break the vicious cycle of worry. Keeping a journal and writing in it regularly, even if only once or twice a week, has been shown to have positive effects on mental health.

Thanks to Jonathan Merry, Bankless Times!

#3- Taking baby steps

My own experience as a CEO has taught me that the best approach to care for my mental health and for myself is to take baby steps. Even though I have a clear picture of where we need to go as a company, as CEO it can be difficult to keep my attention on the big picture while I'm staring down the barrel of our next meeting. As a result, I see the need of taking baby steps toward my objectives. I know that every choice I make has the potential to have far-reaching consequences, but I may have to start small in order to make a large difference.

Thanks to Pete Chatfield, Household Money Saving!

#4- Keeping a strict bedtime routine

It can be tough to get enough sleep when working long hours to build my business or complete major projects, especially if I’m feeling a little stressed. Fortunately, our bodies' natural sleep-wake cycle can be trained to start winding our brains down and falling asleep faster. By setting the same nightly bedtime and sticking to it, I can fall asleep quickly and start each day feeling rested and refreshed. With enough sleep, I’m better able to manage stress levels, increase productivity, and stay positive.

Thanks to Maximilian Wühr, FINN!

#5- 30 minutes of ‘me time'

As a CEO, wife, and mom of two, I take care of my mental health and engage in self-care by scheduling 30 minutes of ‘me time' into my schedule. I learned from past experiences that if I do not write ‘me time' into my schedule, it will not occur. This ‘me time' is time for me to unwind and relax. I listen to music or go for a leisurely walk in nature. During that time, my phone is on silent or I hang a ‘me time' sign on my door.

Thanks to Dr. Naomi Jean-Baptiste, Hope4Med!

#6- Meditation

Meditation is one of the habits I learned that improved my daily work. It helped me clear my thoughts, so my mind is fresh when I start my work day. It also gives me inner peace that affects my decision-making at work and in my personal life. You need to invest 15-30 minutes of your day in meditating, and you will immediately see an effect. I also only allow myself to be on my devices for part of the day. I only have time to check the mail and deal with business matters. The blue light on your phones, tablet, or laptops can affect your sleep health, so no gadgets at least 30 mins before you hit the sack.

Thanks to Roman Zrazhevskiy, Mira Safety!

#7- Be passionate

As a CEO, one method I've found to take care of my mental health and practice self-care is by engaging in activities I enjoy. Becoming a CEO is a trap that many fall into. Establishing a prosperous business is part of my remit. My enjoyment of life would increase if I could just devote more time to the things I enjoy. I can't expect to be well at my job if I don't like doing it. This implies that I should give priority to the activities that I find rewarding. If I'm not happy in my job, I need to figure out why I'm still doing it.

#8- Disconnecting from technology

It's a common piece of advice to put the phone down, but how often do we actually take it? I'm guilty of always feeling like I need to be on, but I've learned that unplugging is essential for my well-being. I started small by not checking my email during my commute or putting my phone on airplane mode during meals. It's not realistic to do this every day, but doing so every now and then helps ground me and reminds me that work can usually wait.

Thanks to Jonathan Rogers, Credexel!

#9- Get better sleep

I used to think that the key to success was simply working harder and staying up later, that I would get more done by burning the midnight oil. However, I soon realized that this approach was taking a toll on my mental and physical health and that I needed to find a better way to care for myself. That's when I discovered the importance of good sleep habits. I learned that sleep deprivation was actually hindering my ability to make good decisions and stifling my creativity. I realized that I needed to find a way to get more rest and build a routine that would help me to do so.

Thanks to Andrii Pominov, Digital Skills Blog!

#10- Healthy lifestyle

I think that while self-care is frequently associated with mental health, it frequently also includes taking proactive measures to promote physical health. I make an effort to get eight hours of sleep each night. For some of us, this will mean cutting back on late-night emails, but you can do it, too. I get a reusable water bottle and drink plenty of water. Get some exercise in. By attending to my body's requirements, I'll be able to concentrate on more important issues in my career and personal life.

Thanks to Jon Lynn, My Office Pod!

#11- Set boundaries

As a CEO, it can be challenging to balance work and personal life. Setting boundaries, such as turning off work notifications after a certain time or dedicating time to personal activities, can help maintain a healthy work-life balance. For instance, I make sure to turn off my work notifications after a certain time each day. This helps me disconnect from work and focus on my personal life. I also dedicate specific time slots for activities such as exercise or spending time with my loved ones. These boundaries give me the time and space to recharge and come back to work with a fresh and clear mind.

Thanks to Mervyn O’Callaghan, CameraMatics!

#12- Positive self-talk

As a company leader, I take care of my mental health and self-care by writing down my thoughts to express my emotions. It helps to process complex events and releases me from thinking traps while increasing my self-awareness. I also maintain positive self-talk to improve my emotional well-being and offer myself similar compassion as I show to others. It has helped me to challenge negative thoughts and protect my mental health, so I can stay productive and confident, even in my potential to support others.

Thanks to Jonathan Tian, CreditYelp!

#13- Start my day by reading

I start my day by reading. It helps me keep myself calm, composed, and ready to face anything. In fact, I also take up reading for a few minutes during the day when I feel incredibly overwhelmed. I also have an assorted collection of healthy foods that help me stay healthy as well as seem to calm my nerves. Lastly, I have some quotes for myself around my workspace that I found or wrote during challenging times. Those quotes and messages remind me why I am here and how I can maintain my mental health.

Thanks to Rakhi Oswal, Edrio!

#14- Stopped comparing myself

To keep my mental health strong, I have stopped comparing myself to others. Comparing yourself to others leads to jealousy, which is negative since your mind is distracted by a certain item you don't have while others do. Remember that people only display what they wish to show on social media. People only show you the bright side of the picture, and you end up becoming a victim because of it. Forget about how other people are doing and focus on what you want to achieve.

Thanks to Danny Peng, zxmedppe!

#15- Take regular breaks

As a CEO, it is important to take care of my mental health and self-care. I make sure to take regular breaks in my day and practice mindfulness to reduce stress. I also take time to connect with family and friends and to engage in activities that I enjoy. I also make sure to get enough quality sleep and eat a balanced diet. Lastly, I make sure to get regular exercise and practice self-care activities such as meditation, yoga, and journaling. Taking care of my mental health and self-care is essential for me to be successful as a CEO.

#16- By saying no

The life of a CEO is very challenging, and most people don't get this. We focus so much on the health of our business and employees that we often forget about our own. I used to be the same. But after a drastic burnout episode, I've started to take better care of myself. I've realized that the healthier I am, the better it is for my business. My self-care tip is to say no. I don't take any meetings or calls after my work day has ended. I work 9 to 5, like my team. When five o'clock rolls around, it's my time, and I'm on my own. I've learned to say no to tasks that don't need my expertise.

Thanks to Marcus Arcabascio, Post Locations!

#17- By separating my professional and personal lives

As a CEO, I have a lot on my plate to deal with. It is like a job that never lets you rest. You constantly think of how to pitch that client, and how to improve campaigns. My mantra is to separate my professional and personal lives. When I am at work, I emphasize my work only. But after working hours, I don't stress my mind over upcoming projects and campaigns. I enjoy my time with myself, my family, and my friends. This has also prevented me from experiencing burnout. And I am constantly energized to work.

Thanks to Ryan Faber, Copymatic!

#18- Avoiding over-committing myself

Being a CEO comes with a lot of duties, and one of those is the requirement for judicious work selection. Therefore, choosing carefully what to focus my attention on and not overcommitting myself are my top self-care strategies. I accomplish this by filtering my daily activities and concentrating on what needs immediate attention. By doing this, I can ensure that I don't overwork myself, am constantly accessible as a caring leader, take breaks, and prioritize my sleep. By making sure I never overestimate my capacity, I prevent the mental anguish that results from unfinished tasks.

Thanks to Marc Hardgrove, Thehoth!

#19- Eating healthy foods

We, entrepreneurs, are naturally busy or always occupied that we can't even complete our sleep most of the time, we barely have time to meditate or go to the gym and all but I always make sure to eat nutritious foods as my protection against possible illnesses for these things I'm missing due to my busy schedule. Eating healthy foods gives me some sense of peace knowing that even though I'm skipping the gym or barely getting a complete sleep, I'm still healthy mentally and physically.

Thanks to Guy Hadas, Age Group!

#20- Multiple 10-30 min breaks a day

As an entrepreneur, it’s crucial that I put my mental health high on the priority list. For me, it looks like scheduling multiple 10-30 min breaks a day, where I go for a wellness walk, or do some alternate nostril breathing. Anything important is on my calendar, so the more I intentionally plan out wellness activities during the week, the more I actually do them. These breaks help me become more creative, engage my physical body, and get out of my head, which helps both me and my business to flourish.

Thanks to Rachel Ann, Rachel Ann Coaching!

#21- Build a consistent morning routine

Having a consistent morning routine will always keep you disciplined and make you feel better about yourself. Starting your day on a productive note as per your routine will ensure that you manage your time well all day and get your everyday tasks done within the deadline. Start with including an hour of meditation and a fitness regime before you head on to your work. When you practice these activities every day, you can effectively adapt them according to your own needs over time.

Thanks to Hilda Wong, Content Dog!

#22- By maintaining a healthy work-life balance

I make it a priority to carve out time in my schedule for activities that allow me to recharge and refocus. Whether it's taking a yoga class, going for a run, or simply unplugging from technology for a few hours, I recognize the value of investing in my own well-being. Additionally, I make sure to maintain a healthy work-life balance by delegating tasks and trusting in my team's abilities. By taking care of my mental health, I am able to lead my team with a clear mind and a focused perspective.

Thanks to Rahul Vij, WebSpero Solutions!

#23- Set boundaries between work and personal life

As a CEO, one way I take care of my mental health and practice self-care is by setting clear boundaries between work and personal life. This involves scheduling specific times for work and leisure and making a conscious effort to disconnect from work-related activities during designated times. During my time, I engage in activities that bring me joy and relaxation, such as spending time with loved ones or pursuing a hobby. This allows me to recharge and reduce stress, which in turn improves my mental health. By prioritizing my mental health, I can lead my company with a balanced perspective.

#24- By doing something I enjoy

I make sure to find time each day to do something I enjoy, like going for a walk, listening to music, or reading a book. I stay active and try to get some form of exercise every day, even if it’s just a few minutes of stretching or yoga. To ensure I don’t get overwhelmed, I practice time management by setting daily goals and sticking to a plan. I take time to meditate and focus on my breathing, which helps to give me clarity and reduce stress. Lastly, I make sure to stay connected with friends and family, as socializing is important for mental and emotional health.

Thanks to Fred Winchar, MaxCash!

#25- Put down the phone

How frequently do you hear this recommendation each week from friends, family, Twitter, and Instagram? More than you can ever count. How frequently do you actually take it, though? I'm definitely guilty of wanting to be on all the time, and nobody can become an expert at unplugging in a single day. As a result, start small. For example, try not to check your email while you're driving, or put your phone in airplane mode for one meal. In all likelihood, you can't do this every day, but doing it occasionally will help you stay connected and remind you that, for the most part, work can wait.

Thanks to Sanjay Gupta, Gurin Products!

#26- Connect with family and friends

As a CEO, it is important to take care of my mental health and self-care. I make sure to take regular breaks throughout the day to relax and recharge, and also dedicate time to my physical health by exercising regularly. I also make sure to practice mindfulness activities such as meditation and journaling, to help keep me focused and mindful. Additionally, I make sure to connect with family and friends, and take time to engage in hobbies and activities that bring me joy and relaxation.

Thanks to Ataur Rahman, GetGenie!

#27- By delegating jobs

As a CEO, I focus on being an essentialist to take care of my mental health and self-care. Being an essentialist is all about “doing less and in a better way” by identifying the difference between unnecessary and indispensable. This approach helps me delegate jobs and have a constant follow-up on things to find quality time for self-care activities such as exercise and meditation. With this approach, I invest my energy and time only in what is essential, and this helps gear up my performance and motivation.

Thanks to Sam Chan, PiPiADS!

#28- Nutritional wellness

Make sure to schedule time for yourself to do something that you enjoy, like reading a book or going for a jog outdoors. It's also important to set aside some time each day to focus on your professional goals and learn strategies that can help you stay balanced throughout the day. Lastly, don't forget about your nutrition; make sure you're eating healthy, balanced meals that provide nourishment for both your body and mind. By ensuring these basics are taken care of, I feel more confident in being an effective CEO who leads from an empowered place.

Thanks to Wolfe Bowart, VIVIPINS!

#29- Exercise benefits

I prioritize daily physical activity such as walking or running to stay active while also increasing blood flow to the brain which encourages greater productivity. Additionally, I make sure to set aside alone time for creative activities like painting or reading which allow me to express myself in a calming manner. Practicing mindfulness with deep breathing exercises helps me think better. Lastly, I create healthy boundaries and practice saying no when needed to protect my own energy levels and well-being.

Thanks to George Harrison, Pkgmaker!

#30- By disconnecting from technology

One of the ways I take care of my mental health is by setting boundaries. I also prioritize self-reflection and regularly check in with myself to ensure that I am managing stress and taking care of my well-being. Additionally, I make a conscious effort to disconnect from work and technology, especially during non-working hours, to give my mind a break and recharge. I believe that taking care of my mental health not only benefits me personally but also positively impacts my work performance and ability to lead.

Thanks to Beth Rivera, Best Financial Planners!

What is CBNation?

We're like a Global Business Chamber but with content...
LOTS OF IT

CBNation includes a library of blogs, podcasts, videos and more helping CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners level up

CBNation is a community of niche sites for CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners through blogs, podcasts and video content. Started in much the same way as most small businesses, CBNation captures the essence of entrepreneurship by allowing entrepreneurs and business owners to have a voice.

CBNation curates content and provides news, information, events and even startup business tips for entrepreneurs, startups and business owners to succeed.

+ Mission: Increasing the success rate of CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners.

+ Vision: The media of choice for CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners.

+ Philosophy: We love CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners and everything we do is driven by that. We highlight, capture and support entrepreneurship and start-ups through our niche blog sites.
