#1- Building opportunities

Innovation for me comes from need. As the saying goes Necessity is the mother of invention after all.  One way has been implementing rewarding training and educational programs that will ultimately lead to future internal opportunities as we continue to grow. This also allows us to bring voices from varied backgrounds into the fold, and their fresh perspective on how we operate as they learn our systems allows us to test and find places we can improve.

#2- AI-driven technology

To continue innovating, we plan to leverage cutting-edge technologies to create seamless connections between service providers and homeowners. We will invest in AI-driven matchmaking algorithms that connect qualified professionals with homeowners' specific needs swiftly and efficiently. Our future innovation roadmap is geared towards optimizing convenience, reliability, and community-building, ensuring that Mio Home Services remains at the forefront of technological advancements in our industry.

#3- Implementing interesting ideas

So how do I continue to innovate? Well, first of all, I try to make sure that innovation is a part of my daily routine. It also means making sure that I'm constantly talking with other people—not just about work, but about their lives and what makes them happy. Then when I've found something interesting or useful for myself or my team, I take the time to really understand it and consider how it could apply to my company. Finally, once we've figured out how this new idea could work for us, then comes the hard part: actually implementing it!

#4- Using versatility

Our product innovation process takes in a wide variety of inputs ranging from supplier chats, trade show treasure hunts, shopping the competition, and employee brainstorming sessions to listening to customer feedback — including the good, the bad, and the ugly! Although we are an e-commerce company, we don’t just focus on launching the latest new, life-saving products, but also look for ways to improve our existing best-sellers to provide more robust, reliable solutions for our tribe.

#5- Continual learning and collaboration

I firmly believe that learning should be a lifelong pursuit. I make it a point to stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in both the media industry and the financial sector. #10- Networking with other people

I find my best innovations come from networking with other people in the same business. I am able to get insights into what their businesses is actively doing and what concerns they have with the industry as a whole. We can share ideas and talk about what works and what doesn't work. I can save a lot of mistakes from being made by learning from others. My plans for innovating will always focus on what is best for the industry and my customers. That is how I designed and created the Yardsmart app, and how I will continue to upgrade it to allow for a seamless process.

#11- Creating passion projects

The beauty of a small business is that you are empowered to experiment. Innovation comes from trying new things, and the best way to try new things is to produce something that is free from the constraints of a client or a brief. At Lambda, we call these passion projects. These are projects that are created fully in-house and explore new equipment, trends, or processes. They don't serve financial aims or adhere to client requirements. Instead, they are projects where we retain complete creative control to experiment and innovate.

#12- Looking on the outskirts

As a website design agency, we are completely immersed in the design and development world, but the innovation comes from looking outside. By far the biggest innovation we have created came from our frustration in collecting information and documents from clients. This is how Gatheroo.io came to life. It has very little to do with websites, but everything to do with how we operate. It's something we know a lot about, but also something different. If we had focused on websites, I don't think we would have benefited as much as looking on the outskirts.

We also employ AI and data analytics to better understand our customers' needs and provide better value in our insurance plans. Innovation is the lifeblood of any small business – including mine. Ever since I launched it so many years back, my journey as a business owner has involved a lot of curiosity as well as a relentless pursuit of improvement wherever possible. One story I can tell you, which perfectly encapsulates this ethos of mine, is when my company faced a major slump in customer engagement.
